Nashville, day 3

Here we are at the end of day 3 in Nashville. Time is going by way too fast! This morning we all slept in and had breakfast at home. Mom, Chris and I took a nice walk around the neighborhood this morning which was beautiful. We saw two yellow labs on the street that reminded us so much of our sweet Liza puppy that we just lost. The boys went off and had a boys afternoon together at Justin's company which is a beer brewery. They had an awesome time and got the full tour which they loved. Us girls went off to Green Hills mall and did some shopping and went to an awesome bistro for lunch. Today is Jennifer's birthday (cousin Brandon's wife). We had lots of fun celebrating and all walked away with new clothes! We all met back up after lunch and went to "Nervous Charlies"- which is none other than a firework store. Here in Tennessee fireworks are allowed 24/7-365. Scary! The boys were like little kids running through the firework store (which by the way was at a gas station). I wanted to get the heck out of there as fast as we could. After 35 minutes and $107.00 we now have hundreds of fireworks, smoke bombs and firecrackers. Got back to the house and the guys threw the football around and started lighting off their toys. The even bought fireworks that go off in the pool. Chris almost lost his left foot from a firecracker that Brandon threw. I swear if we all leave with all of our limbs it will be amazing! They are nuts! Some of the fireworks felt like we were at Disneyland. We even had a few fireflies out there with us which was awesome. Tonight we all stayed home and grilled out and watched the Titans game. They were here in Nashville tonight and it was crazy! They get REALLY into their teams here, I love it! That's all for today, we are really excited about tomorrow. What a wonderful place this is!!! The weather has been perfect! We could not ask for better weather. It has actually been better than California. Blue skies in the 80s and no humidity! I think God is trying to tell us something :)
Auntie Jamie, we prayed for you today! So happy your surgery went well!!! We love you and are thinking of you!!
Good night from Tennessee.

Celebrating 10 years..

Chris and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary on October 6th! We celebrated today by spending the entire afternoon and evening together, kid free.  I found a killer deal for couples massages on Groupon and learned that if a deal looks too good to be true, it is.  Things we've learned after 10 years of marriage; don't take yourself too seriously, laughter is the secret to a good time and chocolate makes everything ok.

TwistShake Baby

Our sweet Sophie Mae is just starting to take a bottle like a pro. You know where I can finally run some errands kid free and not stress about her starving because she only likes the boob.  I've been giving her a bottle 3x a day, the main one being at bedtime to ensure she gets a belly full because sleep is a good thing!  We are in a good transition and I plan to stop nursing when she's around 9 months old.  I've collaborated with TwistShake Baby! They are a company out of Sweden and they make the most awesome Baby bottles.

10 years..

Friends.
It's been 10 years since I created southernatheart.
10 whole years.
I remember sitting in our little cottage in Southern California logging in and creating this blog like it was yesterday.
I've always had a passion to write.  I have piles of journals from my teen years and early 20s.  Writing has been and still is therapeutic for my soul.  Whether it's pen to paper in a journal, a blog post or like the most recent years a post on Instagram.  It's how I express myself and my thoughts best.  Documenting life through the good times and hard.

These past three years I've simply ignored my blog because I lost the desire and all the extra time to sit and write.
Something stirred inside me recently and that was to log back in and get this thing going again.
I don't know what it's going to look like, nor can I tell you what to expect here but we'll figure that out as we go.
Exciting things are happening I expect this blog along with Instagram to be part of t…
