oh boy....oh boy...it's a GIRL!

Yes, you're just as surprised as we are!! We the Andrews are expecting a sweet little baby GIRL and could not be more thrilled!! Katelyn Marie Andrews is a modest little one (her dad is happy about that) So here is how we found out...I had to go to the radiology department this afternoon to have my cervix checked to make sure that all is well. While I was sitting the waiting room I was praying that I would get the same tech I had at my 8 week ultrasound. She was so sweet and so knowledgeable. I didn't even know if she was working today but I was praying! (sometimes some of the techs can be a bit harsh so you want to get a good one.) They called every body's name and I was the last one in the room and the girl I had been praying for came out and called my name!!! I did my yippee/ Praise you Jesus dance all the way to the ultrasound suite and told her how happy I was to have her, she even remembered me! She checked my cervix (all looked great to me) and she asked if I knew w…

Oh Baby Andrews

Let me start off by saying that all the prayers worked!!!! The little one had the legs open during the whole ultrasound! I was so thrilled! I was sure we were going to walk out of that place knowing we are having a baby boy or a baby girl! We all stared at the screen trying to put the parts together and figure out what we were looking at. 98% of the time when we had "the shot" there was nothing to see. We all said girl and the tech even said girl. The at the end she said ok "it looks like you're having a boy!" The room went quiet! Not that we weren't excited, we were all shocked. I was bummed because none of us are convinced either way. Trust me we are going to be thrilled either way, we just want to be sure before all the shopping, planning and registering begins! I must admit that in a way the suspense of this is kind of fun. I know that the Lord is teaching me something through this. He knows that I'm a planner and for some reason I'm not suppose…

Vegas part II

We are home sweet home from Vegas! It was a great weekend, so good to get away together but there is nothing like coming home!! Yesterday was super relaxing. We went to the Paris resort which was right next to our resort for breakfast and then did lots more walking around the strip. We spent a couple of hours walking to the different resorts and browsing the windows of the over priced fancy stores. Once our legs turned to jello so we went and lounged by the pool for a couple hours and then went back up for a nap. After my much needed 2 hour nap we went back to the Bellagio for an afternoon crepe. Let me just tell you, its a really good thing we don't have that chocolate shop anywhere around here. It was amazing!!! The largest chocolate fountain is there and it is the best chocolate you have ever tasted! We had a raspberry crepe with fresh whipped creme. I wanted to just park it there and try everything!!! What? I can't help it, the baby wanted it! ;) We once again did some mor…

Viva Las Vegas

Yeah, the title cracks me up because we are so not the Vegas type of couple. We are here in sin city for the weekend with Chris' firm. They sponsored the whole weekend for us to show their appreciation to the employees (all 26 of them) for working so hard during tax season. We're at an awesome resort (Planet Hollywood) and we also have an awesome view (38 floor!) Lets pray Vegas doesn't get earthquakes! Yesterday we walked around a few of the resorts and did some shopping. We decided that we wanted to go to the buffet at our hotel for dinner. Its apparently voted the best buffet in Vegas....yeah $30 a person! It was a little disappointing. I hardly ate, but the dessert section was amazing!! We had some pretty tasty crepes! Mmmm! Baby Andrews was a fan. We were so tired and were back in the room and in bed by 8pm. How is that for a city that never sleeps? We're having a great time but its heartbreaking to see the filth. In filth I mean the selling of one anothers body t…

Ma!

So my mom turned 50 this week and Chris and I were gone so I wanted to do something special for her. Last week I took her to the spa and we got pampered with heavenly facials. On Wednesday I put together a little surprise party for her at my house. It was an afternoon tea with our sweet Bible study girls. Mom was surprised and we had a great time! Then the whole family went to Wood Ranch to celebrate some more and everyone came back to our house for dessert and presents. Happy Birthday mom!! Hope you had a great time celebrating! We love you!!

We're having a....

Boy? Girl? Not sure! That is how our day was yesterday. I'm so glad that the Lord gave us humor through it all. We went to an ultrasound place at 11am yesterday morning in Costa Mesa. We went in soo excited. I drank my cold apple juice just like I was told to do, laid on the bed and waited with great anticipation to hear if we are having a son or a daughter. We waited and waited...watched the baby move all around, suck the thumb, and then baby andrews fell asleep! Not only did our baby fall asleep on us after all that orange juice and walking around but "he" fell asleep with the legs crossed! I got up and did some more walking up and down the stairs to try to wake "him" up...nothing. Sugar must not be "his" thing because it sure didn't work! We were upset (I was more upset of course because of these crazy hormones) so we left and went to Rubys for lunch. I ordered anything and everything that I could possibly think of to wake this child up. I star…

.happy.

Things are going well and moving along at the Andrews household. We had a blessed Easter. Spent it with our family and close friends at my parents house for brunch. Chris and I spent all weekend at my parents house which was fun. We had our first doctors appointment today with my doctor. It was so great to meet him, a blessing really. He is the neatest guy. The thing I love most about him is his love for the Lord and his passion for life. It was a very positive appointment, I have lost 1.5 pounds since our last visit to the office. I was stoked. I had literally just come from eating my bbq wrap from red robin with my endless basket of fries and ranch.. More good news is I passed my glucose test with flying colors. I am so happy. Doc said that everything looks great! Heartbeat was strong again today beating at 167bpm. As we were listening there was a funky sound and he said that was the baby kicking and moving around! Baby Andrews is now the size of a lemon, about 3.5 inches! It is so …
We are back home and had a fabulous time in CDM! It was soo relaxing and absolutely beautiful everyday. It was great to stay down there but there is nothing like coming home! Chris is in crunch time at the firm with the deadline a week from today! I won't see him much until next weekend! I just have to brag about my groom for a minute. I have never known someone who works SO hard and never ever complains! He is my biggest blessing and everyday I thank the Lord for sending him to me. He truly amazes me. He works hard for his family to be the provider so I can stay home and prepare for our first baby and be a stay at home mom. I've always dreamt of this but never thought it would come true. The Lord has truly blessed us more than we could have ever imagined. All the glory goes to Him! Speaking of our first baby and blessings...13 more days and baby Andrews will have a name! My belly has started to pop out. It is such an odd feeling but so cool! We are so excited!!! The countdown…

Perfect weekend.

Chris and I are house sitting in Corona Del Mar for the week. We did this last year and loved it and now we're back! We have had the perfect weekend. Chris had to work a few hours on Saturday and snuck away early so we could enjoy the beach. We walked around Laguna and went to a yummy small family Italian restaurant for dinner. Chris took a hot tub while my feet dangled in the warm inviting water. 6 more months and I can go back in one! I begged Chris to stay home today and it wasn't too hard to convince him. We slept in and took Lily (the golden retriever) for a nice long walk around Balboa. Came home and took a heavenly nap then went to Little Corona and played around in the tide pools. It was the most gorgeous day!! Once we got home from the beach we came back and rested up a little bit more then went to Fashion Island for dinner, dessert and more walking! We spent some time in Barnes and Noble thumbing through baby name books looking for a boys name that we could both agr…

12 weeks

Today was our 12 week ultrasound. Its the scan they do to check the baby and measure everything to make sure the babe is growing on schedule and to make sure that nothing looks "off". My hubby is so swamped at work so I brought the grandmas along with me today. We had a blast. I got the same ultrasound tech that I had for our first ultrasound in the same sweet room. The grandmas had to share a chair which was funny and they even got their own private screen to watch the baby. It was quite a funny sight. We saw baby Andrews the minute she turned the ultrasound on and "he" was moving all around. I can't even believe the difference from 9 weeks to 12! We could see the profile of the face so well, the brain, all the fingers and toes...just amazing! There was one moment where it looked like the babe got scared and threw its hands up in the "air". It was the cutest thing I've ever seen! Baby Andrews was quite active this afternoon!! We're going to h…
