Parker family shower

Saturday, August 29th, 2009 My family shower was thrown by my Aunt(s) Jamie, Sally and Claudia. They did such a fabulous job and had all of my favorite desserts. It was so great to have (most) of my family there along with our close family friends to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our baby girl. Every single gift was beautiful and thoughtful. I wish I had more room for pictures of the gifts but I've posted a few.. my aunt Jamie made a gorgeous mini quilt for Kate, its hanging in her room now. Sally and Claudia got the Rocking Pig which I am totally in love with!!! Sue got us our diaper bag which is pretty awesome and my momma bought us our stroller which is my favorite. We were completely blessed by each person there and are so thankful for all the precious gifts..

Neighborhood Shower

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 Debbi and Christina thew Kate and I the most beautiful shower. All of the ladies from my parents neighborhood came and blessed us with such great gifts. Christina is very special to me, I started taking care of her and her twin brother when they were only a month old. Needless to say, I got lots of great baby experience in with them! She was also the flower girl in our wedding. Such a sweet family. You can check out some of the gifts from the shower on Kate's blog.. click to make picture bigger

my heart is going to burst!

So yesterday was my last day of working! Can't tell you how relieved and great I feel knowing that I have a few weeks to finish preparing for Kate's arrival. These next couple weeks are going to be a blast, have so many fun things planned and lots of rest to get caught up on! Anyway, yesterday was a great day in the Andrews household. As I said it was my last day of working, I got a ton of shopping done (household items, we are set until the new year!) and then I got a couple text messages from Chris with pictures of a big present. He called me a couple hours later to tell me that the firm took him out to celebrate his birthday and then they also threw him a surprise baby shower!!! I am still overwhelmed by all that they did for us, I really can't believe it. Chris came home (very proud) with a large pink basket that was FILLED with baby girl goodies! From clothes, bibs, diapers, wipes, books, laundry detergent toys, bottle cleaners, bath toys...you name it! AND...on top o…

simple and beautiful.

In preparing for the birth of our daughter you can imagine that Chris and I have a million and one things on our mind. One thing that crosses our lips every single day is this exact phrase "Lord, thank you!" We have been absolutely blown away and are so humbled by the love that has been shown to us as we prepare for Kate's arrival. Can't tell you how much it means to us. We are blessed with a large support group and an amazing family and not a day goes by that we don't thank the Lord for you. Our hearts are filled with thanks tonight. As I was leaving Trader Joes this evening and driving home by myself I just began to thank the Lord that we can grocery shop and buy delicious food without having to worry about how much it cost. That is a blessing. It really opened my eyes to how much we take for granted. Something as simple as being able to buy food is something to be very thankful for. The fact that I got to come home tonight to a clean and cold house with a husb…

whew!

Iam feeling like a new woman tonight. My long list of "things to do before the babe arrives" is getting shorter! I won't even begin to bore you with what is on my list but let me tell you, it's long! Tonight I got to cross off a few big ones! #1. Our air conditioner was fixed yesterday. This is great news. It was making the most annoying sound in the world every time it turned on so I hated turning it on. Since I have my own built in personal heater it is not acceptable for the house to be warmer than 74 degrees so I was living with the sound....not anymore! :) #2. The Jeep now has new breaks, tires and the alignment has been fixed! This was totally weighing on my shoulders. It has to be safe and in perfect shape to tote the princess around in. #3.I finally made an appointment to go see my dermatologist. Thank you to all of you who have been nagging me to go in and have my sun spots looked at. I feel relieved knowing that I'll know soon if they are ok or not. #4.

Happy Birthday to

....my husband!! The most wonderful, handsome, caring, loving, thoughtful, hott and sexy man on earth! I have been blessed beyond what I deserve by Chris and his love for me. He is everything and more of what I had in mind for a husband. He is my greatest blessing and I am the luckiest woman alive to be able to share with my life with him. Yesterday he celebrated 28 awesome years of life! Life is just getting started for us and we can hardly wait to see what the Lord has in store for the next 28! His birthday present will be arriving in a few short weeks..we're a little excited if you can't tell!!

Andrews Family Shower

This past Saturday was my first baby shower! My mother and sister in law hosted it and it could not have been more beautiful. Grandma and Aunt Judy even flew down from Washington to be part of the celebration. I felt so loved and we were so blessed by every one's generosity and joy. Kate got some pretty awesome gifts!! It was so much fun sharing our joy with the family and being able to spend a little extra time with them. She is one loved little girl! Thank you to everyone who was part of the shower...it was a blessing and we are so thankful for such an awesome family!
Here are some pics from the celebration..

rambling

Just a really quick update. I have the nesting bug really bad and I need to go finishing washing all my screens and windows while its cool out but just wanted to share that our daughters room is 95% done! Yippee! The plantation shutters were installed today and we are so thrilled with how they turned out! I sold the blinds that were in there on craigslist today and also sold my parents big screen tonight. I'm on a roll! This house is getting in ship shape! My belly is growing everyday and we are counting down the days until we get to meet this little girl! Exactly 2 months away. I'm getting a ton of braxton hicks a day and Kate is in the birthing position so I think it will be more like a month and a half away but we'll see what God has planned!
Chris and I got to meet the newest member on our block tonight. Our neighbors had a baby boy on Saturday night. Aiden is the sweetest little guy. Jen and I are going to have so much fun walking the babes once ours arrives! Ahh life…

Maui- Day 4, 5 & 6

Sorry for clumping these all together. Maui was so relaxing and I had absolutely no desire to sit on my computer and type so here you get it all at once..

Day 4 (Friday) - After breakfast we drove to Wialea. It was about 40 min away from where we were staying in Kaanapali. We spent some time at the Grand Wailea which is a gorgeous resort. For those of you who watched Jon & Kate plus 8, it's where they stayed and renewed their vows last summer. It was fun to see other parts of the island. There is so much to do! We spent the rest of the day doing the usual.... floating in the waves, swimming in the pool and soaking in the Hawaiian sun. Dinner was the best. We went to Lahina and ate at Kimo's. We had the best fish dinner and were blessed with the most beautiful sunset. For dessert we got 3 Hula Pies and as you can see from the pictures, we were big fans! Lahina is such a fun old fishing town...lots of cute shops too! A few friends came over to our condo after dinner to do cig…

Maui- day 3

Woke up to another beautiful day.... we packed up and went to the "Gazebo" for breakfast. It's a cute little funky place under an actual gazebo. Very small, very popular and VERY yummy food! We waited almost an hour to be seated since there are only a few tables and it was definitely worth the wait. So good. We were all a little sleepy for some reason so we came back and rested a bit before we hit the beach. Did a little shopping in Whalers Village to wake us up. They have the best shops there!! We spent the rest of the afternoon floating in the waves. I don't think that could ever get old. The water is just perfect. The best part is, I haven't seen one fish! Thank the Lord! Our good friends Jack and Dana Grogger and the Obremskis are over here for Krista's wedding and we went to their place for dinner last night. So fun to spend time with them over here!! We spent most of the evening there then back back to our condos for dessert and more shopping at the Vil…

Maui- day 2

Wednesday was an early morning in Maui. The boys were up and out the door by 6:30am to catch their yacht. They spent the day at Molokini and Turtle Bay snorkeling. They had a blast swimming with all the tropical fish, a shark and a couple sea turtles. Not to mention their fabulous breakfast and lunch and free mai tais. The girls stayed back at the resort...my mom and I took a long walk down the beach with our iced coffees in hand. It was so beautiful and felt great to get some exercise. We spent the entire day at the beach, had lunch at the Hula Grill and then floated in the waves when the boys came back. After the beach we all went up to the condos to rest and clean up then had drinks and appetizers at our place. The view is just mesmerizing, I don't know how else to put it. We ventured out to Lahina for dinner. That is the cutest little town ever. Had dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise, another fabulous place. Live music, good food, great view and fun company! We walked around t…

Maui wowie

We have arrived in Paradise. My parents picked us up at the airport on Monday night. The minute we walked off the plane we were relaxed. I don't know what it is about this place but it really is as if there are no worries. Whatever it is, we'll take it. My parents checked into Chris' and my condo on Saturday and ended up getting us totally hooked up. We were supposed to be in the way back of the property and they got us the cream of the crop condo. Honestly, its probably the best one in the entire resort. We are on the 9th floor in a really big 1 bedroom condo that is directly on the ocean. We have a wrap around balcony with views that literally take your breath away. Never seen anything so beautiful. We look out our kitchen window and it looks like we're floating on the ocean. Needless to say, this is the party condo... appetizers, drinks, cigars and lots of fun is taking place here. My family is 5 floors below us in a pretty sweet condo. We're having too much fun…

August already?!

It is hard to believe that summer is almost gone. I couldn't be more thrilled about that fact but in a way it's hard to believe. I got pregnant with Kate in the winter...been through spring, surviving the summer and shes arriving in the fall! Wow! We really are on the last leg of this journey! August is a very busy but very fun month for us. We are taking off tomorrow to Maui to meet my family there..we have been counting down to this trip for months! There are no words to describe how excited we are to get there! It will be our last hurrah before the peanut arrives... Don't worry, we already have 4 trips planned for next year. She will be quite the traveler as well! In other news, Chris had his review at the firm and......it went extremely well!!! I knew it would but it was better than we expected. Thank you Lord! It makes my heart so happy knowing that he is loved and cherished there. They are blessed to have him and we are blessed by that job. God's timing is so so …
