Ellen!

I got tickets to the Ellen show last month and show day was yesterday! My mom, sister and my BFF headed to LA for the day and had so much fun! Lunch and coffee at Farmer's Market.
I love that place. Seriously fun!

After lunch we walked a few steps over to the Grove.
 Love the shops there.
I started a little Christmas shopping & bought myself a fabulous new hair straightener.
Mario Lopez was next to us filming EXTRA....he's adorable.

My camera died right after this picture was taken!

Thank God my bff had her iPhone and was able to snap a couple more memories..

All checked in with our numbers!
We had soo much fun at the taping. If you think Ellen dances on her show. Ha. She has nothing on the audience. We were moving every minute except while we were filming. The warm ups before the show were crazy. We were having singing competitions and dancing competitions and laughing hard because you feel like the biggest dork. But then again, who really cares. We were all dorks together. This show confirmed that I am one white girl. I seriously have no moves. The Ellen Show brought out some crazy moves I didn't know I had and they will most likely never be seen again!

Ellen is awesome. I love her dearly. I might not agree with some of the things she does but that doesn't make me think any less of her. She is an amazing woman and I loved that we got to be part of her show and experience it live.

After the show was over we had dinner and headed home. All I wanted to do was click my heels and be in bed. I was so beat. It was fun to pull out my dancing shoes and have a girls day...it was definitely just what I needed!

Can't wait to go back next year!

Homemade Pop Tarts

To be honest, I’m not a fan of the boxed pop tarts but homemade ones make me weak in the knees. Our local coffee shops here in Tennessee sell them and they’re my guilty pleasure.  I decided to take a quiet Tuesday morning and make some with my sweet boy.
Here’s what I did..
HOMEMADE POP TARTSYIELD:9 servings PREP:1 hour COOK:25 minutes TOTAL:1 hour 25 minutes These are simple and SO delicious! A flaky, buttery pastry with strawberry and brown sugar cinnamon fillings, and they’re frosted, of course! The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever.

What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon.
Step one.  Get your ingredients out.

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in.

Mix it real good.

Time to cool it down.

Now comes the sweet part.

This next step is money.  Lordy.

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it.

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

A healthier me.

Remember my Trust your gut  post?I feel like a whole new girl since I wrote that a month ago.  So many things have been confirmed and I feel like my happy healthy self again.
All because of two things; 1. The gallbladder cleanse that I posted about.  Literally saved my gallbladder and my sanity.  No more stomach pain! And I can drink wine and margaritas without pain again! 🙌🏼
2. I found out that I have a sensitivity to gluten. It's still a mystery to me as to how I developed this but all I know is that when I do have gluten my joints hurt, I get awful headaches and an upset stomach along with bloating.
Back to my first post about this... I took a "before picture" thinking I was going to 5-10 pounds and then post my "after" picture. 😂😂😂
Truth is, there are still plenty of calories in gluten free food. The other truth is I'm 80-20 gluten free. I still enjoy a few non-gluten free treats here and there (and then pay for it later).
I love food. I reward myself wit…
