Our week of love

Valentines celebrations kicked off last Thursday with my moms group.
These girls are wonderful and I love them to pieces.
I seriously love our bunch.
Kate was having a melt down, can you tell?

Sarah made a delish chicken salad and I made heart scones with devonshire cream
It's not a party unless there is good food involved :)

We had craft time for the kidlets.
Which really means we gave the babes crayons and paper and let them have at it while the mamas had craft time. I admit it. I'm a Martha Stewart wannabe compared to all my girls who are the real deal.

The result of our craft time...
Kate's hand prints for daddy and all the grandparents
How sweet is this?

I once again attempted to be Martha Stewart and made these sweet little desserts
S'mores y'all!!!

So, to be honest I think Valentines day is a bit cheesy. Or at least it can be. Chris and I don't get too fancy with it but we did have a great day celebrating L O V E

I had the best morning at Bible study. The Lord showed me some things I need to work on but I left so encouraged and uplifted and so overwhelmed with His love for me!

Kate and I had a tea party in her cottage and as soon as daddy got home we hopped in his car and he took his girls out to dinner.

Today Kate and I went to visit daddy at work.
We made this cookie cake and took it to his office.

My man took his girls to one of our absolute places for lunch.
Crepes de Paris.
Sweet baby Jesus, I love you and these to die for crepes.
Kate was diggin' the dessert crepe. She is so my girl!

Quick snapshot before we left daddy's office.
I am officially a "single mom" until April 18th(ish)
My man starts overtime at the firm today.
Hello tax season.

Words can't express how in love I am.
I'm going to go start dinner before I get all cheesy and sound like a hallmark card.
Love y'all

Homemade Pop Tarts

To be honest, I’m not a fan of the boxed pop tarts but homemade ones make me weak in the knees. Our local coffee shops here in Tennessee sell them and they’re my guilty pleasure.  I decided to take a quiet Tuesday morning and make some with my sweet boy.
Here’s what I did..
HOMEMADE POP TARTSYIELD:9 servings PREP:1 hour COOK:25 minutes TOTAL:1 hour 25 minutes These are simple and SO delicious! The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever.

What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon.
Step one.  Get your ingredients out.

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in.

Mix it real good.

Time to cool it down.

Now comes the sweet part.

This next step is money.  Lordy.

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it.

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

A healthier me.

Remember my Trust your gut  post?I feel like a whole new girl since I wrote that a month ago.  So many things have been confirmed and I feel like my happy healthy self again.
All because of two things; 1. The gallbladder cleanse that I posted about.  Literally saved my gallbladder and my sanity.  No more stomach pain! And I can drink wine and margaritas without pain again! 🙌🏼
2. I found out that I have a sensitivity to gluten. It's still a mystery to me as to how I developed this but all I know is that when I do have gluten my joints hurt, I get awful headaches and an upset stomach along with bloating.
Back to my first post about this... I took a "before picture" thinking I was going to 5-10 pounds and then post my "after" picture. 😂😂😂
Truth is, there are still plenty of calories in gluten free food. The other truth is I'm 80-20 gluten free. I still enjoy a few non-gluten free treats here and there (and then pay for it later).
I love food. I reward myself wit…
