growing up

My baby sister has graduated high school and is about to embark on a new journey in life. It blows my mind to think that my little 5lb 5oz sister who I used to read stories to and rock to sleep is done with high school and is about to turn 18. I've always been like her other mom, I was so hands on with her when she was a baby and growing up and now we're turning more into friends which is so fun. I'm that "friend" of hers that tells her the straight up truth and she can't hate me for it because I am her sister first. We have so many years between us because I lost a sister and a brother in between and a couple others that we will get to meet in Heaven one day. I guess it sort of seemed like she would always be the baby but it hit me last week when she walked across the stage to accept her diploma at graduation that my baby sister is growing up and and is turning into a woman who is ready to take on the world.

...A bunch of youngsters, Class of 2011...

...and she thought she was mature then...

Congrats Sister!

KEEP YOUR EYES ON, JESUS,
WHEN THE TIDAL WAVE OF TROUBLE AROUND YOU ROLLS.
KEEP YOUR EYES ON, JESUS,
HE WILL CALM THE STORMS OF LIFE THAT TOSS YOUR SOUL.

LIVING IN A WORLD THAT'S FULL OF SORROW,
WE ARE TRIED AND TEMPTED EVERY DAY.
KNOWING NOT THE SECRETS OF TOMORROW,
WE FIND IF YOU WIN, WE WATCH AND PRAY.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON, JESUS,
WHEN THE TIDAL WAVE OF TROUBLE AROUND YOU ROLLS.
KEEP YOUR EYES ON, JESUS,
HE WILL CALM THE STORMS OF LIFE THAT TOSS YOUR SOUL.

Go get em' girl!
Keep your eyes on, Jesus.
With Him...all things are possible!
