Trusting in Him!

Chris and I have been discouraged with a lot of things in our life and we're to the point now where we are just open, open to whatever God has planned for us. Never before have we really been open to "big changes" but we are getting there. I guess you can never say "never" because you never know what God has in store for you and your life. We are learning that now. Our prayer is that God will use us where we are at and take us to places we never thought possible. With that being said, we are open and have applied for a job in Nashville, Tennessee. I really thought that Chris would NEVER be open to moving there but he was all for it, only because we trust that if God leads us there and opens the door then we know that is where we are supposed to be. If not, we will stay here and be content. I know this is going to be a surprise a few of our family members because this is brand new and we haven't really told anyone but we are trusting in the Lord and are being

slumber party

I've been kind of bad at blogging lately. Seriously, our life has been non-stop craziness. I have not had one night of just being home in two weeks. We are breaking that one tonight! There have been meetings, dinners, Bible studies, shopping excursions, weddings, church events, you name it we've done it but it's all been fun. It isn't going to slow down any time soon either...well maybe a little :) Last night Chris had his first "business trip" away. I don't even know if I can call it a business trip because they are out in Palm Springs golfing and living it up. Since it was his first time being away from me I decided to have a little fun of my own. Last night I took one of the high school girls out to dinner then rushed home and had 7 of my girlfriends over for the night. We had a sleep over! It was so much fun staying up all night talking, laughing and sharing stories. I am so exhausted today though, I don't know when the last time was I did that.

Memorial Day.

We "kicked off summer" yesterday with the annual Parker BBQ. The weather was a bummer but we celebrated anyway. We also went to possibly the longest and most boring Angel game ever! Thank you to the amazing men and women who have given their lives for the sake of our freedom and those who are fighting for us today!

Robuck Wedding

Tonight my girlfriend from high school Lauren married Scott (who I also went to VP with). It was a beautiful wedding and so much fun to see them again! The beautiful bride and groom!

"Third Microquake Hits Anaheim Hills"

I am not crazy! Thank you mom for cutting this article out of the Register for me.. "A magnitude 2.1 earthquake briefly shook Anaheim Hills at 11:29p.m. Friday- the third tremor of its kind in the same neighborhood since Thursday. The latest event occurred 1.7 miles beneath the Earth's surface along East Bridgewood Drive. The 2.0 and 2.2 quakes on Thursday occurred near-by Blackwill Circle, the U.S. Geological Society said. All three quakes happened close to Anaheim City Park. The small cluster likely was caused by minor movement on the Elsinore fault or one of its branches"

Ya Yas

The rest of my girlfriends minus Lo graduated today from Biola. Tonight we went to Meg's grad party. So much fun seeing my girls and catching up. They are awesome and I'm so glad they've moved back to the OC...we're having a sleep over this week- I can't wait!! PS. Congrats girls! xoxo ...The Ya Yas... Les, Allison, me, Jess, Meg Sexy faces

I am so not crazy. The house just shook again and felt like a small earthquake and Chris felt it too. I am officially freaked out. A big one is coming, I know it.

First of all, did anyone feel an earthquake at 9:30am yesterday? Our house shook like no other and my family is calling me straight crazy. I promise we had one, I grabbed Riley and stood outside forever. I'm so paranoid about them. I don't know about all this craziness that's going on, I'm calling it that God is coming back soon. I spent today with mom, aunt Jamie and grandma and grandpa. We went to Neiman Marcus for lunch to celebrate grandpas birthday #82! It was a great time as always. I was so looking forward to having a nice quiet night at home since I have not had a night home since last Friday night but that didn't happen. We headed back over to mom and dads because Chris wanted to play Wii with dad and have their guy time and smoke cigars so mom and I went to Costco and some other fun stores. We found lots of neat stuff, the re-decorating of our dining room has begun! Woohoo! It's been a great day, I'm exhausted and am looking forward to having a qu

Girl's night

Last night we celebrated Jan's 29th birthday at Rachel's adorable little cottage. Too much fun! She lives right behind my grams and grandpa so I had an awesome visit with them before the party began. I love these girls so much.

broken hearted

I don't even have the words right now but my heart is broken and sad for the Chapman family today. "Maria Sue Chapman, adopted and youngest daughter to Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, was killed Wednesday night in a tragic accident in the family driveway on Wednesday evening. She was LifeFlighted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital but for only reasons God can explain she went home to Him... not to Franklin as we all so desperately wanted. Your prayers are needed for all in the Chapman family. This is a family who has so generously loved and given to so many. Just hours before this close knit family was celebrating the engagement of the oldest daughter Emily Chapman, and were just hours away from a graduation party marking Caleb Chapman's completion of high school. Now, they are preparing to bury a child who blew out 5 candles on a birthday cake less than 10 days ago. These words are unthinkable to type. And yet we trust in a God who was not surprised by this and b

It was Taco Tuesday night again and our group grew a little from last time! So fun! The most entertaining part of the night was Hil's man singing karaoke....I'll post the video. It was the funniest thing ever. He's a brave man. We spent the rest of the night with the Golinos at the Daniels house and watched American Idol and Deadliest Catch since we're all big fans. Matt is singing "Have you ever seen the rain" just in case you have a hard time understanding him. Comedy!

I have been involved in a new ministry at our church called PINC. It stands for Passionately Involved in Christ and it's for girls ages 12-18. We meet once a month and do really fun activities..each month is a new topic. We have done a "what not to wear night", where we talked about what is and what is not appropriate clothing to wear, we've done a hair and make-up night, we've made jewelry, we gave them great insight on cleanliness and organization, we did a night on dating and etiquette, they made a dinner for their moms, we did a health and fitness night and last night we ended with a spring fling and a date with our dads. It was the cutest thing and such an awesome way to close out the year. It has truly been a blessing to be part of this amazing group and has been a joy watching these girls grow in the Lord and mature in their Faith. I can't wait to see what God has in store for next years PINC.... Here are some fun pictures from the night.... The m

I love her

I am in love with this little one. Brighton is my girlfriends daughter and yesterday we celebrated her baby brothers 1st birthday! The birthday boy was sick so we don't have pictures. Cheese! look at her little arm around my neck. Precious

family time.

It's been a long but great day! We started the day in the Urgent Care because my foot swelled up and was extremely painful to where I couldn't walk. It is infected from the puncture of the palm tree needle that got stuck in it last night. I'm on some great pain meds so it's all good now. Chris and I did a progressive dinner tonight (which was his idea) with his cousin and his wife and his sister and her husband. We had a great time together being at each others houses...they are all doing such an awesome job fixing them up. It was a great idea and we are doing it again in a couple weeks with more friends of ours! Woohoo! This bird was so hilarious, she loves men and would not leave ours alone. I had a huge laugh attack over it. The funny thing is Chris is scared to death of birds. Halo was all over Rada

Last night when Chris and I were doing our nightly devotional we read the following; "We should always remember that true value is granted by the One who created us in the first place. There is no greater sense of self-worth than knowing that He is acquainted with me personally; that He values me more than the possessions of the entire world; that He understands my fears and anxieties; that He reaches out to me when no one else cares; that He can turn my liabilities into assets and my emptiness into fullness; and that He has prepared a place for me-one where earthly pain and suffering will be but a dim memory. Indeed, the Lord of the universe places so much value on us that He gave His life to save us." How awesome is that!? It's a message of hope and encouragement to those who are broken and discouraged. God is great and I can't imagine where we would be without Him being the center of our life, our marriage, our family.

I have to admit that I have been a little jealous of grandma and grandpa today. They are at my favorite place in the world with my amazing Nashville, Tennessee. I have been thinking of them all day long. I have to keep reminding myself that we will be there in less than 3 months. I can't wait!! I got a puncture wound in my foot tonight and it's killing me! I'm trying to be brave and strong but I can hardly walk. My sweet and amazing husband has taken great care of me (as always!) he made a delicious dinner, washed and vacuumed my car (I got hurt washing his car) and has helped me with things around the house. I am so blessed to have an incredible, hard working, handsome, Godly man to call my husband. He is wonderful and never ceases to amaze me. He is my love <3 So happy it's Friday, that means I get two whole days with my man!

catching up.

I don't know what I did but I screwed our blog up. I wish I was more of a computer nerd to know how to fix it but I'll keep trying. If anyone knows how to get it back to normal let me know! This morning mom and I went to breakfast with our dear friends Frankie and her daughter Sarah and her baby boy Paul. It was so awesome and so great to catch up and share that fellowship. Sarah had her sweet baby boy exactly a week after our wedding, we were all praying that he would hold off and he did! I had a great afternoon and this evening I had dinner with one of my dearest friends, Jessica. We caught up over some awesome food at Gabbi's in Old Town Orange. I love that girl to death and am so proud of her and her accomplishments, she is now a nurse! It's been such a great day besides the fact the it looks like California is now going to allow same sex marriages. I know some awesome people who are gay, however marriage is a union that was made for man and woman to share togethe

short and sweet.

Chris and I can feel the prayers and we definitely appreciate them. Tonight we went to the Flame Bible study at church, it was amazing. We're so thankful for such awesome teaching-straight from the Word. Love our dear friends who are there. Please keep praying for us! xoxo

No worries.

I don't have much to say tonight. Today we were both on edge with everything that is going on. The most amazing part of my day was getting an email from Chris while I was at work and reminding me that God is in control and has already been on the road before us. He knows exactly what is going to happen and has it all planned out. Times like that I feel so ridiculous for worrying and stressing out. I love this verse, " He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end " Ecc.3:11. It has been on my heart all day. God's plan for our life is always greater than our own and for us to even think about tomorrow is not necessary. My amazing husband took me on a fun date night which we both needed. We went to Downtown Disney and went to Jazz Kitchen for a delicious dinner. We always love going back to that place, it's where we had our first date. I am so thankful

Mother's Day

Mother's day is amazing. I think it should be more than once a year. Even though it is exhausting for us kids our moms are so worth all the love and work that goes into their one day. I'm sure I will love it even more when I'm a mom but seriously, I love mothers day. Chris and I hosted a brunch for his side of the family this afternoon which was lots of fun. It's always a good time! We love to entertain. This afternoon we went over to mom and dad Parker's house and hung out with them and grandma and grandpa. My family is nuts, I wish we could video tape our family get togethers . We played Wii (I guess that's how its spelled?) all afternoon, golf (I beat Chris!), bowling (my favorite), and tennis(which I suck at). I'm not very good but we all had a blast at it. We ended the night in the hot tub, the whole family in there listening to Michael Buble ' and the guys with their cigars. I love my family, they are amazing and so much fun. It's been an awes

Today was nothing but pure FUN! It started out with going to the Farmers Market in Yorba Linda this morning with my love, we are big time fans! This afternoon mom and I went to a baby shower for Stephanie who is about to pop any day with her sweet baby girl Kylie Joy! Tonight was the best!!! Mom, dad, meg, flo, chris and I went to the Michael Buble' concert at the Pond. It was so amazing. We went with my parents neighbors who have a suite and had an incredible night. The guy is amazing. Chris had no clue who he was even though I made sure a ton of his songs were played at our wedding. I don't know how some people don't know who he is. Chris enjoyed himself immensely and is now a fan also. Tonight was the finale of his American tour so it was really special. Look up the song, "Quando, quando, quado". My favorite song ever. It has been such an awesome and uplifting day to which we are thankful for!!

One down.

So thankful this week is over with! We made it! Just a couple more weeks to get through! Today started with Mops, I had a ton of little babies to take care of which was so fun and the best part was my girlfriend Sarah brought her sweet baby boy in and I had him all morning. I got my baby fix. Mom, Chris and I spent the afternoon together which was fun. Tonight Chris and I went to Brea Mall for no reason at was the first time ever we walked out of there with spending $0.00 amazing. We went to the pet store there and fell in love with this little guy. He would fit right in with Riley. For some reason we are attracted to big puffy white things. Ah, I really want to open up and be able to write down what we are going through. The sad thing is, I can't. This is our personal blog and we should be able to be open and transparent on here for our family an friends. Unfortunately there are people out there that we can't trust and therefore we aren't able to share. One

Pure joy.

I am so thankful for today. I woke up with a peace in my heart just knowing it was a new day and excited to see what was in store. I spent the morning by myself cleaning, thinking and praying. Our hearts have been so heavy....there has been a lot going on at our church which has broken our hearts, we are patiently waiting to hear back on the job for Chris and mine is up in the air right now. We are stressed, worried, crushed and at a place where we are constantly checking our hearts to make sure the decisions we make are pleasing to the Lord. That is all I can say right now, I will go into more detail tomorrow. (ps. make sure you sent your email to us so you can stay involved in our blog since its going private tomorrow). I spent the rest of the afternoon with mom talking about everything that is going on and then having several conversations with people in our life who are going through the same thing we are. I don't even know how to explain how we are feeling right now. Tonight

Pressing on.

Today was one of those days where you just want to crawl back in bed and pretend it never happened. Most of you out there know what is going on in our life and know that we are really struggling on what to do. I will be able to post more soon but for now please keep us in your prayers. We as a couple are doing great, there are just a couple decisions that we need to make and are waiting on the Lord to show us what to do. I had a bad morning and came home from work early to spend some time in the Word and just to sit and be still. It was just what I needed. I have the best mom in the world and she called this afternoon to encourage me and I decided to go hang out with her and sister. We went shopping and got some ice-cream. Tonight they took us to dinner to our favorite place, Wood Ranch. It was a perfect way to end a long and challenging day. I know that through all of these trials God has a plan. I will be able to talk about whats going on more soon. Until then, pray for us!

Happy 1st Anniversary

to Chris's sister and brother in law (mine too!) I can't believe it was a year ago!!! Hope you guys have an awesome time celebrating! Love you guys.

Wow, so much has been going on in our life this week. We are totally under attack from Satan and feeling it. In a way it's a good feeling because you know you're doing something right but it is not an easy thing to go through. If you wouldn't mind lifting up a prayer for us this week that would be so awesome. This song is how my heart feels. "Yearn" by Shane and Shane with Bethany Dillon

Sometimes I feel like a house cleaner, gardner, maid, chef, CFO, entertainer, laundromat....the list goes on... but I love it. Being a wife is awesome. I love the duties that are given to us and the responsibilities that come with it. We always have people in and out of our house whether its for dinner, dessert or just to hang out. I love having people over and being able to serve them. Sadly, Chris has his friends over a lot more than I have mine over (but that is changing now that they're done with school!) Tonight our good friend Carlos was over (still is). I love that guy, he is like a big brother to me and a boyfriend to Chris. They've been out smoking cigars, playing tennis and having their guy time while I stay inside and bake. I just made us some yummy pizookies. Like I said earlier, friends are awesome. Good friends and good food. Life is gooood! Our BFF

Three of my really close girlfriends graduated from Azusa Pacific University last night. I am so proud of them. Heather and Jess are nurses and will be amazing at it! It's so rad to see how God has been at work in their life and to see the path that He has them on now. I can't believe how fast it went. It seems like the year and a half I was in college took forever but these 4 years have flown by. They are all taking different paths and each one is going to be an amazing journey....getting real jobs, getting married, having fun! I can't wait to see where everyone is going to end up. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing group of friends, there are 10 of us who have been super close since freshmen year of high school and they are friendships that will last a lifetime. Friends are awesome. Here are a few of us from Jessica's grad party that was tonight -Allison- Heather- Jess- Meg- Kelly- Me-

Big Bear

The staff retreat to Big Bear was good, challenging and exhausting. It's always awesome to be able to spend time with the staff, they are amazing and hilarious. We are a little burned out and are praying that God will give us the strength and excitement to continue serving and that He will also reveal to us when it is our time to be done. I have been trying to not let myself get too involved in everything that is going on there because when I do I find myself upset and frustrated. There have been so many changes and more coming, a few that Chris and I don't necessarily agree with. It's frustrating and pointless when you give your opinion on something and no one takes it to heart or considers it. So, that's where we are at. Here are a couple pics from the weekend.

on the road again..

This morning mom and I made 29 jars of berry jam. I wanted to eat it by the spoonfuls! We are on jam overload so please come over- you won't go home empty handed! Chris and I are packed and he is waiting on me to leave, we are on our way out to Big Bear for the night for a staff retreat. Should be a good time. Things are moving along for Chris with the new company, he got a really good email back from the founder of the company who Chris has been meeting with and they are moving forward with him! Yippee! We'll see what next week holds! My uncle John who I love and adore from Tennessee is going to be in town tomorrow night and we're going to miss him again! Dang it! Have fun family! We're outta here...

Happy May Day! Where is time going?? 2008 has been a year of growth so far...spiritually, personally and emotionally for us. We are so looking forward to seeing what God has planned for the rest of the year for us. May is an exciting month! All my girlfriends are graduating from college, there are baby showers, family days, and a girlfriend of mine from high school is getting married in 3 weeks! Can't wait to see you Lauren! Chris met with his potential new company again today and it went well. He has a couple things to get to them next week and then we should know what the next step is from there. We are really excited but don't want to put all our eggs in one basket and get too excited yet. It is in the Lord's hand and we trust that if this is where Chris is supposed to go then He will open the door. Getting a job these days is no walk in the park, it is a super long process! I don't know how people live without Jesus in their life.
