I see the light!!

Yes! There is a light at the end of this tunnel! The past two days have been a lot better over here. We had some problems with getting my heartburn prescription approved so we moved onto a different one...and so far it has been helping! I am so very thankful for this relief. This afternoon I went in for the growth ultrasound that my doctor ordered. It was so great seeing Kate again, although she is so big and so squished in there that it was hard to tell what was what. Her head is so far down that we couldn't even get a good measurement on it. We were able to tell that her hands were once again up by her face (as always). Another thing that was a huge relief to me and an answer to prayer was her umbilical cord. I have a huge fear of it being wrapped around her neck. I've heard so many freaky cord accidents not to mention I had a prolapse cord and my sister had the cord around her neck 3 times! Anyways, praise the Lord it is not by her neck, its floating by her tummy and arms! W

This is my cry...

I am going to be really honest and open in this post.... I'm always honest and open but this is a little... graphic. This morning was my 38 week check up with my OB. I was super excited to see my doctor and to find out what was going on. I had a good morning and got a lot done around the house. I spent some time in prayer and was just excited to see what the day was going to hold. As I was driving to the appointment I started to throw up. I held it back a couple times and as I was on the 22 freeway I lost it. I can't tell you how many times I threw up. It was all over my face, my sunglasses, my lap, my seat.... it just kept coming. I don't even know how I got to the doctor's office without getting in an accident. I was crying out to the Lord in complete distress. I pulled into a parking spot and did my best to clean myself up and get my car cleaned up as best I could. I have never been so grossed out or more embarrassed. I found the closest restroom and scrubbed my dres

All better!

We are on the mend, thank the Lord! I am getting better each and every day and Chris had nothing but the common cold. This has been a much better week in the Andrews household. We are enjoying each day together and doing our best to wait patiently for Kate to arrive. I'm sure you can imagine that we are getting very anxious with being days away from her due date. We are ready and just waiting for that perfect day. I have been taking naps everyday and trying to rest up as best as I can yet I still find myself exhausted. I am up a minimum of 3 times a night for the restroom. So annoying. I am about to make a run to target to get me some depends! I guess this is preparing us for parenthood but it's so not as fun! Chris is killing me with his excitement building up. I find him playing with the stroller almost every night and last night I found him in Kate's closet checking out all her clothes. It is the cutest thing ever. I can hardly wait to see him hold his baby girl. She is

No title tonight.

Oh my goodness, this has been quite a week! I was released from the hospital on Saturday afternoon. It felt so good coming home but part of me wished I had stayed an extra day to get even more rest in. I know that sounds funny but its so hard once you're home. It seems like there is always laundry to do, dishes to wash, phones to answer. Ahhh. I just want to sleep. We could not have gotten through this without my parents. They were our Godsend. They came to visit me in the hospital a couple times which was nice for me and it gave someone else for Chris to hang out with and go eat with. They went to our house while we were in the hospital and disinfected the whole place and got it clean before we came home. My mom made us a fabulous dinner for Saturday and Sunday night....ahh thank you! It gave us such a lift! So here we are.....home. I am getting better each day which is a praise and now my husband thinks he is coming down with the flu. Nooooo! I wanted to cry when he told me that

I'm not a pig!

I'm sure most of you have heard by now that I was admitted to the hospital last night. I woke up on Wednesday not feeling like myself at all. I knew something was wrong. I went in to see my OB to check on Kate since I had been throwing up and not feeling well at all and thank God all was well with her so I went home and went to bed. When I woke up yesterday I felt like I was on my death bed. I can't even describe the pain and discomfort I was in. I ache from my head to my toes, had a hard time breathing, was throwing everything up even ice chips, had a really high fever....anything and everything..I had it. Finally at 10pm last night we decided to pack up and head to the ER since I had no fluids left in my body. Chris was worried sick about his girls. Thank God for our doppler , he kept pulling it out to check on his baby girl. He has very worried. The ER was a disaster. We finally got a room around 11:15 and they started running tests on me right away. Blood tests, nose swabs,

Who will win??

Ok, Kate's birthday is coming up! Make your guesses!

Oh this week!

Whew! It has been quite a week for us. Chris is in full swing with overtime at the firm. Starting this week he is working 7am to about 9pm (sometimes later). We LOVE overtime and he absolutely amazes me. Never once has he complained about the long days. Thankfully the firm treats them to massages and yummy food to keep them going. I went to his office on Wednesday for the first time ever. It is so nice to finally picture where he is and to see everyone again. All his co-workers are so sweet and they absolutely love him. I took in some homemade cookies as a thank you for all they did for Chris, Kate and I. Apparently I am supposed to make more to send with him next week, they were a hit! I had my stitches removed yesterday so I am feeling a lot better! I am waiting for the final report from the dermatologist but apparently I had a melanoma on my back. It looks like they got it all but I also have one on my tummy that needs to be taken out once the little monkey is out. It's never bo

Maternity Pictures

Chris and I did a maternity shoot last week with my girlfriend Emily. I was her small group leader in high school and she is taking on photography...we had a blast taking these. They were taken outside the gate in our backyard. We can hardly wait to meet our daughter in a few short weeks...enjoy a few of the 100's of pictures! Sorry there is no sound, I don't know how to add songs to videos yet..

60th Anniversary

This past weekend we celebrated my Grandpa and Grandma Styll's 60th wedding anniversary! 60 years!!! That is amazing. My grandparents are such an amazing example to the family and it was such a joy to be able to celebrate them and their love this weekend! Most of the family from Tennessee flew out to be part of the celebration- they are always a blast! On Friday night my parents hosted a carne asada cookout with the whole family and Saturday the Fingals hosted the most fabulous prime rib dinner. It was such a treat. Everything was so delicious. I wish I would have taken more pictures but here are the few that were taken....the tall guy on the left is my cousin Justin, he is the best! Grandpa and Grandma can hardly wait to meet their great grand daughter. Grandpa was feeling her kick all night and was so cute with cleaning off my belly every time I spilled on it. So sweet. PS. Check out our belly picture. I'm sorry, we had to!!!

Bible Study Shower

August 31, 2009 Hosted by Sarah Mittmann and Frankie Galaway I have been in a Monday morning Bible Study for over a year now with the neatest group of women. We meet at the Galaways house every week and last week Sarah hosted a beautiful double shower for Rachel and I. Our girls Ava and Kate are due 2 weeks apart! We're having so much fun preparing for their arrivals together. Ava could be here any day! We were both showered with so much love and so many gorgeous and thoughtful gifts. Thank you girls! Can't wait until our little bambinos join the Monday morning girls! :)

Friends Shower

August 30th, 2009 - 4:00pm Hosted by Jessica Reigel and Meghan Samsvick I had so much fun at my shower with my girlfriends. It was such a relaxing and beautiful evening. I am so thankful for the friends that the Lord has blessed me with. They definitely spoiled Kate...she has lots of crazy aunties who are waiting to meet her. Thank you girls for making it such a special evening for me...our little YaYa will be here soon! :)

don't sweat it

Do you ever have those days where you just don't know how you are going to get through it? How about those weeks? To be honest, I thank the Lord that I don't have them very often. This week however has been challenging. Chris and I have been to the doctor's 5 times this week (3 times for me, 2 for him). He is dealing with some ENT issues and is going to have a cat scan soon to figure out what is going on. I went to see my dermatologist on Monday to have some of my lovely moles checked, come to find out he wanted to take a couple of them out so I went back today to have them removed. I was very brave (says my doctor) and didn't flinch. I practiced the breathing we learned in Lamaze while I was getting the numbing shot. At least it was good for something! I now have 10 stitches and go back next week to have them removed. Awesome. I had my OB appointment on Tuesday which went really well...more of that can be found on Kate's blog. So all of the above is manageable and
