A month old...

Already!? Where has the time gone? In a way it feels like more than a month with all we have been through but in another way I can't believe it's already been a month. Our little six and a half pound baby is now nine pounds! She is developing some pretty awesome rolls on her legs and has a pretty cute double chin. Shes trying to keep up with her momma, except mine are NOT cute. She continues to make us fall more in love with her everyday. We are convinced that she is the most precious, cutest, sweetest baby in the world. We might be a little biased but hey....it's true! Life as the three of us is quite different than when it was the two of us but we are adjusting well. Kate seems to have her days and nights mixed up most nights. She enjoys having a party in her moses basket for multiple hours during the night. Wish we weren't invited to those parties but it's so hard to deny those baby blue eyes staring at you. Kate is becoming really observant and curious to everything around her. She lifts her strong neck and does the little bobble head thing as she looks around the room and stares at us. One of our favorite things she does is her whistle face. I will have to catch a picture of it soon. Best face ever. We are enjoying each new day with this precious girl and feel so blessed to call her ours. We love you baby girl! And now.... a few pictures from the past couple weeks!

The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever. 


What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon. 
Step one.  Get your ingredients out. 

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in. 

Mix it real good. 

Time to cool it down. 

Now comes the sweet part. 



This next step is money.  Lordy. 

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it. 

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

Recipe for the best ribs ever.

You can imagine my excitement when I discovered Gordon Food Service. I used to pass by it weekly and wonder what the heck was in there. Do yourself a favor and look them up ASAP and see if there is one close to you. I am a fan for life!



As a busy mom who loves to cook and make delicious meals but also needs to stay on budget, I can do it all with Gordon’s Food Service!
If you have a big family or throw parties, this is the place to shop. 
We just did an end of summer party and I bought everything here. The meat selection in fresh and frozen is wonderful. 


And you see those peanut butter krispies?  To die for!  In the frozen section. Thank me later. 



You know our deep love for ribs.  Chris does them like no other.  So I thought I’d finally share our recipe. 
All of our items are from Gordon’s Food Service Store.  (Recipe will be posted below)

Ribs are prepped for the oven. 


After 4+ hours in the oven the ribs go on the grill. Toss on a little extra seasoning and sauce for this part.
