family date night

.....I live for these. Time I get to spend with my husband and baby girl is precious. It's very rare that we all have time together right now with Chris being in the middle of tax season. So when he called on his way home from work last night and asked if he could take his girls out for the evening I was all over it. Part of me really wanted to just curl up in bed and have a cozy night at home since I had been gone all day but I knew it would be good for us to get out as a family. We didn't leave the house until 8:15pm and arrived in downtown Brea a little after 8:30. That place is so much fun. SO many fun places to shop and eat and so much fun to walk the strip at night. It was hoppin last night. We walked around for a little bit then did a little shopping (of course)! We hit the jack pot at Old Navy. As I was shopping for some fun new summer clothes for me, Chris was off with Kate shopping for her. He picked out some killer outfits. So adorable. I found the cutest little pink tutu bathing suit for this summer. Our girl has a way better wardrobe that us. She also has the nicest closet in the house. What? Ok, back to our date night.... after 40 minutes of successful shopping we ended our evening at Crepes de Paris. We have been to every one in Cali, very proud about that. It was just what we needed, a nutella crepe and carmel lates'. So delish and so good for the soul. The perfect way to end our week! Our precious girl is getting to be an even better sleeper. Going from 8 hours a night to now 10! We didn't wake up until 9:30 this morning. Feeling refreshed and ready for our fun weekend! Have a great one y'all!

Yummy....

So much sweetness

Goodie Girl Cookie Pop Tarts

Summer is in full swing and Kate and I have a super fun, easy and delicious breakfast or even dessert idea for you to make!  First things first, go find some Goodie Girl Birthday Cake and Magical Animal cookies. They’re gluten free and to die for.  You can make this recipe gluten free by replacing the All Purpose Flour with Gluten Free Flour. Or if you want to skip the homemade dough all together you can use pie crust in the refrigerated section at the grocery store!
Here’s what I did..

The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever.

What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon.
Step one.  Get your ingredients out.

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in.

Mix it real good.

Time to cool it down.

Now comes the sweet part.

This next step is money.  Lordy.

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it.

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

Recipe for the best ribs ever.

You can imagine my excitement when I discovered Gordon Food Service. I used to pass by it weekly and wonder what the heck was in there. Do yourself a favor and look them up ASAP and see if there is one close to you. I am a fan for life!

As a busy mom who loves to cook and make delicious meals but also needs to stay on budget, I can do it all with Gordon’s Food Service!
If you have a big family or throw parties, this is the place to shop.
We just did an end of summer party and I bought everything here. The meat selection in fresh and frozen is wonderful.

And you see those peanut butter krispies?  To die for!  In the frozen section. Thank me later.

You know our deep love for ribs.  Chris does them like no other.  So I thought I’d finally share our recipe.
All of our items are from Gordon’s Food Service Store.  (Recipe will be posted below)

After 4+ hours in the oven the ribs go on the grill. Toss on a little extra seasoning and sauce for this part.
