A must read

I just read a book that was touching, inspiring, filled with promises and hope. You may have heard about it, "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo. It's non-fiction and is about his 3 year old son, Colton who becomes deathly ill and during surgery he slips from consciousnesses and enters Heaven. While he was in Heaven for a short 3 minutes, he met Jesus face to face, met his grandpa he never knew about, the sister that his mom miscarried at 6 weeks and so many others. It is astounding. He also sees the end times and has amazing talks with the Lord. I could go on and on but I don't want to ruin for those who haven't experienced his amazing journey.  It is a MUST read! Even for those who don't believe in God. It gives you a glimpse into Heaven and will most likely answer questions you might have. Its a super fast read, one of those books that you just can't put down....and that's coming from a girl who is not a fan of reading!

Order it today on Amazon or put it on your kindle!
I'm telling you, you will not be disappointed!

I just ordered this book. I lost my best friend, age 30, in April and could use an inspirational book. I was on the bump with you and have a son born 10/6/09 :). I love reading your blog. Your welcome to check out mine...

Goodie Girl Cookie Pop Tarts

Summer is in full swing and Kate and I have a super fun, easy and delicious breakfast or even dessert idea for you to make!  First things first, go find some Goodie Girl Birthday Cake and Magical Animal cookies. They’re gluten free and to die for.  You can make this recipe gluten free by replacing the All Purpose Flour with Gluten Free Flour. Or if you want to skip the homemade dough all together you can use pie crust in the refrigerated section at the grocery store!
Here’s what I did..

The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever.

What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon.
Step one.  Get your ingredients out.

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in.

Mix it real good.

Time to cool it down.

Now comes the sweet part.

This next step is money.  Lordy.

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it.

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

You can imagine my excitement when I discovered Gordon Food Service. I used to pass by it weekly and wonder what the heck was in there. Do yourself a favor and look them up ASAP and see if there is one close to you. I am a fan for life!

As a busy mom who loves to cook and make delicious meals but also needs to stay on budget, I can do it all with Gordon’s Food Service!
If you have a big family or throw parties, this is the place to shop.
We just did an end of summer party and I bought everything here. The meat selection in fresh and frozen is wonderful.

And you see those peanut butter krispies?  To die for!  In the frozen section. Thank me later.

You know our deep love for ribs.  Chris does them like no other.  So I thought I’d finally share our recipe.
All of our items are from Gordon’s Food Service Store.  (Recipe will be posted below)

Ribs are prepped for the oven.

After 4+ hours in the oven the ribs go on the grill. Toss on a little extra seasoning and sauce for this part.
