Cabo Wabo

We just touched down back in the U.S.of A from a much needed week away spent in Cabo San Lucas. It was gorgeous, relaxing, breathtaking, and plain awesome. I'll let the pictures do the talking.. Medano Beach one of the views from our suite I think she's happy... ...toes in the sand...   aren't they adorable?  hanging on the beach the gang minus my husband smoothies all week with my girl date night ..this says it all..  my precious family   checking out her tan lines  our beach this is where we spent our week I can't tell you how nice it was to get away and just chill. No cell phones. No laundry. No cleaning. No worries whatsoever. Our biggest decision for the day was what flavor smoothie to have and where to eat for dinner. The life, right? I definitely enjoyed unplugging a little. We met some awesome people there and are excited to keep in touch via facebook. For those of you who have asked, this is where we stayed. Awesome resort, outstanding serv

Cookies 'N Cream Oreo Fudge Brownies

OH EM GEE. I am loving Pinterest! I now have Kate's big girl room designed and have a stack of recipes that should have never been created....all thanks to Pinterest. Feast your eyes on these beauties... These my friends are amazing, wonderful and filled with rich ooey gooey-ness. Pretty sure those aren't even words but they are the best ones to describe this treat! Recipe: 1 box Brownie Mix eggs & oil (as called for by the brownie mix) 1 heaping half cup (6 oz) Cookies & Cream ice cream 1/4 Cup hot fudge topping (chilled or room temp) Preheat oven & spray an 8×8 baking dish generously with cooking spray. Combine brownie mix, eggs, and oil as directed on the back of the box, but do not add the water. Add ice cream and hot fudge to the brownie batter and stir to combine. Pour half of the brownie batter into the baking dish, layer with Oreos, then top with remaining batter. Bake for 40-50 minutes or as directed on the back of the

Big sister in training

Took my girl shopping this afternoon and and bought her very first baby doll. It is possibly one of the sweetest sights I've ever seen.  She is so proud and enjoys carrying her around and rubbing her back. After her nap she said.. "momma, baby walk" and put her baby in the stroller. Next thing was "bye bye momma!" I asked her what her baby's name is and her first response was "Tate". That how she says Kate, ha! 5 minutes later the baby's name was "B". I can hardly wait to see how she is with a real baby. She enjoys pointing out the baby's body parts so we're going to have to work on no touching the eyes, or squishing the nose and sticking fingers in the mouth. We have 6 months to figure that one out. I'm already melting.

Summer time and easy living

I recently found a product that is definitely going to make living a little easier, especially in the summer summer time. We love to lounge around the pool, float and swim. So does Kate. Up until this week we have held her with a tight grip so she could splash and play. This weekend, she swam all by herself thanks to this little beauty ! It's cute, Kate thinks it's great to wear, it's under $20, free shipping and it's coast guard approved. Don't get me wrong, you definitely can't put this on your kidlet and think you're off duty, especially when they are just getting used to it. Kate loves having the freedom and just after a day of using it she now knows how to kick her feet, float on her back and turn around and swim to the steps. Greatest thing EVER! It is heartbreaking hearing about all the drownings that have already happened this summer. Don't let your precious one be the next victim! If you have a pool, gate it! A little life is more important

My little prune

I had my 10 week appointment this afternoon at my OB office. Besides having to wait over an hour to be seen, it was an awesome visit. My nurse was the sweetest thing and went over a ton of things with me and answered questions I had. It came time for the doppler and she found the heart beat right away. It was registering high so she did an ultrasound right there to insure that there was only one little peanut growing in there. Yep, just one! We must have caught him/her at a very active time because the baby was kicking the little legs and moving those arms all over. It was at that instant that I felt my heart grow. I fell in love all over again. This pregnancy is just now starting to feel real! We have a healthy little one in there with a heart rate of 180...takes after it's big sister. With that being said, I want to hear what y'all think we're having. Is Kate going to have a baby brother or a baby sister? There is a poll at the top, it's all anonymous. I can't

Independence Day

I love the 4th of July. What is there not to love? Red, White and Blue, flags flying, celebrating this awesome land, good food, family, swimming and sunshine! We had all of that and more this past weekend! I was Betty Crocker each morning in the kitchen and made yummy breakfasts for my family. Kate was awesome and slept in everyday. We spent Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday poolside. We shared Saturday with my sweet cousin, Stephanie. She's lived in Germany for the past 10+ years  and my parents took her to the airport on Sunday morning to move to Japan. It was so good to have some time with her. She instantly became Kate's BFF. We are all so sad to see her move so far away and praying that she comes back to Nashville soon so we can have more of her! Sunday was spent in the pool & then had an awesome BBQ at the Fingals house! Great food & the best company! ..four generations.. Monday was swimming, food, more swimming and more food..   Brownie skewers Hope

A sweet little piece

I am the queen of decorating and decorating again and again... I think it's safe to say that our little cottage is almost right where I want it. Our living room is an odd room. It's the first room you walk into when you come in the front door and between the wall space, the tall ceilings and the way the windows and doors are situated, it's been hard to get it just the way we had envisioned. This is the way it's looked for the past 3+ years. I've never been happy with the tiny black "entertainment center" in the corner... So, when my parents awesome neighbors (shout out to the Chunsides!) put out this corner piece I ran over and knocked on their door and they said we could have it...for FREE! I adore corner pieces. ..Before.. All it took was a trip to home depot for paint and new hardware and and a couple days to paint it... ..During.. I spray painted the new hinges and screws and hand painted the rest ..Ta Da!..   We love it! Our room is s
