Office Space

My list of things to do finally has a couple things checked off. Clear out all of the junk in the office Sell old office furniture Take bags full of old things to the Good Will Buy new office furniture Move everything to the new office Call Time Warner and have them move the cable, phone and internet to the new office Check. Check. and Check. We're all moved out and into the new space. I did it in 4 days and am so happy with how it turned out. The old office which will soon be Kate's new big girl room! (old picture) And our new office which is in the garage.. So fresh and so clean! We added the cabinets, bought a new desk, chair and rug. The best part....this only cost us about $50 since I've been on a cleaning out spree and sold a ton of old things on Craigslist! (including my husbands beloved weight set...with his consent of course!!) One room down, two more to go! Time to kick my feet up and eat some pickles.

Back to pink...

Kate's big girl room aka what used to be the office is almost all cleared out! The new office is 90% done and I am well on my way with Kate's room. It has been an extremely busy week but I'm thrilled with the progress. I found her bed... It will against the wall that you see when you first walk into her room and will have big pink fluffy pillow along the back to have a cozy couch like feel. I love that it has a trundle AND storage. I'm thinking it's a perfect place to store cozy blankets and jammies. The bedding... Going with the shabby chic look. I won't be going crazy with the style but I was looking for something soft and sweet and this quilt has it. I love that it's reversible and love love the pink ruffle sheets! Those big pink pillows in the back of the picture shown will be the ones along the back of her bed. The wall color... Sycamore Green from Restoration Hardware. They have the greatest paint and this color brings out the greens in

Going blue.

I have been in full on planning/organizing/shopping mode since sharing the news of our baby boy this past weekend. I hit the ground running on Sunday. Our little guy has a darling wardrobe already and his room is now all ordered and on the way. I had a date with Restoration Hardware this morning and got it all banged out. SO excited to share Williams room with you.. The bedding  The rug I also ordered a sweet little cloud blue cable knit blanket to throw over the glider that has his name on it along with new plush bedding for the moses basket. It's all from Restoration Hardware, hands down my favorite place for nursery's! The walls will be a soft grey and charcoal grey letters will be above his bed to spell out "WILL" It's so fun doing something totally different. We get to see the little guy again next week and I can't wait to see how he's grown! Next on the agenda is getting a new desk tomorrow and moving the entire office by this weekend. My

It's a....

BOY!! Can y'all believe it?! I was in shock for a day or so thinking, oh my gosh what do I do with a boy?! This is a whole new world for me! I quickly began to see what a wonderful world it's going to be after seeing pictures of our little guy and knowing that the Lord is making Him for us. The first thing I did when I found out was head straight to the mall. I have major shopping to do y'all! There is not a lick of baby blue in this house but that has all changed in the past 4 days. I've been going crazy shopping for him and planning his nursery and such. It has been killing me to not share any of this with anyone. My husbands 30th birthday party/gender reveal party was last night and I was counting down the minutes! We had our family over for dessert and this is how it went down...  The Cake. I clearly won't be opening a bakery anytime soon!  ready for the party! The gang right before we cut the cake Birthday boy!  Blue means BOY!   OH MY!!!  Their f

An unforgettable 30th birthday

My sweet husband turned 30 on the 18th of August. We weren't high school sweethearts but he was my sweetheart a month after I graduated. We met when I was at the ripe age of 18 and he was about to turn 23. I remember thinking how old that sounded. Now that he's 30 and I'm right behind doesn't seem so old after all. This birthday was not only special because he is now another decade older but the gender of our baby was also revealed to him that evening. I waited 30 hours to tell him! It was hard but it was worth the wait. Kate and I took him out to lunch that afternoon at our favorite crepes restaurant and that evening we celebrated a quiet dinner out. It was so nice to just sit and talk and enjoy each others company. I made him wait the entire dinner before telling him if he was going to have a son or another daughter. Our waitress walked up behind him and this is how I broke the news to him... A BOY! My man is going to have a son! He was shocked sin

Almost there.

I have been avoiding facebook, private messages and text messages like the plague. All of the excitement and curious minds are killing me. I had a great ultrasound on Wednesday morning, all of my water and apple juice worked great and we had one good baby who cooperated. I held in the secret for over 24 hours. No one else knew my little secret, have to admit it was sort of neat. Just between the baby and I. I had a big surprise waiting for my man during dinner last night where the gender of our second baby was revealed to him. It was so special. I cried and was so happy to finally get this secret off my chest! I can hardly wait to share all the details with y'all. About 36 more hours to go and the news will be OUT!

Slow down girl

Wasn't it just yesterday that we welcomed this little beauty into the world?   Well, maybe not yesterday since I'm 4 months pregnant but in a way it feels like we just met this precious girl for the first time. And now... we are getting ready to celebrate her 2nd birthday. I feel like her 2nd birthday is hitting me harder than her first birthday. I'm realizing daily how fast this is going, our tiny baby is growing up into a beautiful young girl who never ceases to amaze us. It hit me hard last night.  Those of you who are friends with me on facebook or follow on twitter saw that last night was Kate's first night without her beloved pacifier or as she has named it, "Ba". We weren't planning on getting rid of it last night but it sort of it happened and we went for it. She screamed and begged for it and not giving in was the hardest thing we've had to do in a long time. She woke up during the night and called out to everyone she could think

Getting closer.

A week from today I will know (Lord willing) what baby #2 is. I am so excited and can hardly wait to know if it's a sweet baby girl or a precious baby boy! It is going to take all that I have to not spill the beans to Chris until the following evening at dinner. I know I can do it though. I promised that I will not tell a soul. My husband will be the first one to know after me and then we will share with the rest of our family on Saturday night..which means y'all most likely won't know until Sunday. Sorry! Here is what I'm experiencing with baby #2... Weeks : 15 Cravings : none really but I'm still loving bread. Food aversions : chunks of meat. Chicken and Beef. Gross. Heartbeat : steady in the 160s Extras : I am breaking out like a 13 year old, my tummy is stretching and growing daily, I still don't have much energy, I tend to be grumpy often, I've made one homemade dinner in 2 months (so lame), and I'm already having a hard time sleeping du

and so it starts..

I'm a crazy planner, y'all know that. I have my to-do lists and I don't let them sit around long. I have been working like a mad woman around the house this week. Most of the time I just want to sit but when those bursts of energy come I'm up and at 'em! I went around and touched up all the paint in the house last weekend, scrubbed baseboards, replaced the fridge filter, re-planted the garden, bought new flower pots and the biggest and baddest of them all, started cleaning out the office. The baby isn't due for 5.5 months BUT in the meantime we have Kate's 2nd birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, have to re-model the master closet to be able to fit both of our clothes in there, put together Kate's big girl room and if it's a boy do another nursery. In between all of that Chris will be in busy time at the firm and will most likely be starting the masters program in January. out the office and moving it to the garage this month isn'

Watch me grow.

I didn't start taking belly pictures with Kate until I was 16 weeks along. I had friends who started taking them the day they found out they were pregnant and it was amazing to watch the transformation. I decided to do that this time around and at this point it's pure entertainment because that little pooch you see the first few weeks is not baby.  I was much more bloated this time around the first couple weeks, see for yourself and try not to laugh.      {8 weeks, vacation and totally forgot a belly pic!}    There you have it, my belly in the first trimester.  If this isn't up close and personal, I don't know what is!

Hello Second Trimester.

I made it. I am out of the ever so dreaded first trimester. There is something about those first 13 weeks that keep you on the edge of your seat. I know for me with having history of a miscarriage I always dread the first few weeks. I think it's also so unknown because you can't hear the heartbeat on a home doppler and you can't feel the baby move yet. I remember laying down on the table at my 10 week appointment and held my breath and prayed as my nurse did the doppler to find the heartbeat. Oh the sigh of thanksgiving and praise I let out when we heard that little thing racing away.  There is something completely different about this pregnancy than my previous two. The fear is gone. I have had a couple moments of freak outs this time around but that ugly fear that would dangle over my head day after day, is not there! It is something that we prayed and prayed about before we got pregnant and the moment we found out that baby #2 was on the way we began to pray and asked th
