Back to pink...

Kate's big girl room aka what used to be the office is almost all cleared out! The new office is 90% done and I am well on my way with Kate's room. It has been an extremely busy week but I'm thrilled with the progress.

I found her bed...

It will against the wall that you see when you first walk into her room and will have big pink fluffy pillow along the back to have a cozy couch like feel. I love that it has a trundle AND storage. I'm thinking it's a perfect place to store cozy blankets and jammies.

The bedding...

Going with the shabby chic look. I won't be going crazy with the style but I was looking for something soft and sweet and this quilt has it. I love that it's reversible and love love the pink ruffle sheets! Those big pink pillows in the back of the picture shown will be the ones along the back of her bed.

The wall color...

Sycamore Green from Restoration Hardware. They have the greatest paint and this color brings out the greens in the quilt and will even out the pink and give the room a calming feel.

Accessories...

I've found a darling dresser (no picture yet)

and a matching Nantucket style toy box/window seat to go under her window..a custom window seat pad will be made to match her bed.

I just need to find a sweet little rug for the middle of her room along with a chandelier type lamp and of course some fun new toys to fill her toy box!

Hoping to have big crown molding installed in the next couple of weeks so I can go full speed ahead!

Office pictures coming soon!

Goodie Girl Cookie Pop Tarts

Summer is in full swing and Kate and I have a super fun, easy and delicious breakfast or even dessert idea for you to make!  First things first, go find some Goodie Girl Birthday Cake and Magical Animal cookies. They’re gluten free and to die for.  You can make this recipe gluten free by replacing the All Purpose Flour with Gluten Free Flour. Or if you want to skip the homemade dough all together you can use pie crust in the refrigerated section at the grocery store!
Here’s what I did..

The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever.

What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon.
Step one.  Get your ingredients out.

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in.

Mix it real good.

Time to cool it down.

Now comes the sweet part.

This next step is money.  Lordy.

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it.

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

Recipe for the best ribs ever.

You can imagine my excitement when I discovered Gordon Food Service. I used to pass by it weekly and wonder what the heck was in there. Do yourself a favor and look them up ASAP and see if there is one close to you. I am a fan for life!

As a busy mom who loves to cook and make delicious meals but also needs to stay on budget, I can do it all with Gordon’s Food Service!
If you have a big family or throw parties, this is the place to shop.
We just did an end of summer party and I bought everything here. The meat selection in fresh and frozen is wonderful.

And you see those peanut butter krispies?  To die for!  In the frozen section. Thank me later.

You know our deep love for ribs.  Chris does them like no other.  So I thought I’d finally share our recipe.
All of our items are from Gordon’s Food Service Store.  (Recipe will be posted below)

Ribs are prepped for the oven.

After 4+ hours in the oven the ribs go on the grill. Toss on a little extra seasoning and sauce for this part.
