Dancing with the Stars

My momma and I went to the taping of the results show last night for Dancing with the Stars. It was a total last minute thing and we had a BLAST! I've been to almost all the different shows filmed at CBS studios except for Dancing with the Stars. I was so stoked to finally get to go!

We went to The Grove for a quick snack before taping

Laurie, momma and I in Lacey's trailer before taping
Laurie is Lacey Schwimmers mom...if you are not familiar with the show she is one of the professional dancers and her partner this season is Chaz Bono who by the way is an absolute sweetheart! Laurie has been a friend of my moms since elementary school and I happen to adore her too. It was so fun spending the day with you, Laurie!

Chaz, Momma, Lacey and me!

His booty is about the same size of mine. Thatta boy Rob!

I could go on and on about how cool it was an how sweet everyone was. One of my favorite parts (which I have no pictures of because I left my camera in the trailer) was the pre taping. We got to see Blake Shelton sing "footloose" while Julianne Hough and her partner from the new movie danced. Baby Will was going crazy the whole time Blake was singing...pretty sure he loves country music already like his momma.

After the show was over we went to dinner with Laurie, Lacey and her boyfriend DJ.

It was an 8 hour day that felt like 2! I loved every minute and am so thankful for such great friends who are so generous and sweet to us! Thank you Schwimmer girls for such a great memorable day.

Homemade Pop Tarts

To be honest, I’m not a fan of the boxed pop tarts but homemade ones make me weak in the knees. Our local coffee shops here in Tennessee sell them and they’re my guilty pleasure.  I decided to take a quiet Tuesday morning and make some with my sweet boy.
Here’s what I did..

The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever.

What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon.
Step one.  Get your ingredients out.

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in.

Mix it real good.

Time to cool it down.

Now comes the sweet part.

This next step is money.  Lordy.

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it.

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

Ta-Da!

Goodie Girl Cookie Pop Tarts

Summer is in full swing and Kate and I have a super fun, easy and delicious breakfast or even dessert idea for you to make!  First things first, go find some Goodie Girl Birthday Cake and Magical Animal cookies. They’re gluten free and to die for.  You can make this recipe gluten free by replacing the All Purpose Flour with Gluten Free Flour. Or if you want to skip the homemade dough all together you can use pie crust in the refrigerated section at the grocery store!
