4 months

Time is zipping by. Our boy is 4 months old. Where is the PAUSE button?! William is now 15 pounds and 24 inches long. The boy loves to eat, however getting him to take a bottle is still a work in progress. He's an awesome sleeper (only if he's swaddled). He goes to bed around 9pm and is up once to eat in the early morning and is usually up around 8am. He takes several naps throughout the day and is on a great schedule. Our little man has the calmest and sweetest demeanor and is one of the most content babies I've ever been around. He is absolutely fascinated with his big sister, she can do anything to him and he thinks it's great. I'm sure that will change in no time :) We just started him on oatmeal and it sort of makes me want to cry. I was so excited when Kate started solids, little did I know how fast it all went. Now I know how fast this tiny baby stage goes and I sort of want to start living in slow motion to take it all in.

May 21st

Today is bittersweet. Today would have been my grandpa Marshall's 86th birthday. Two months ago today my grandma went home to be with Jesus. and something so very sweet... A year ago today we found out that we were expecting our second baby. And today that baby boy is 4 months old!! So many emotions. Happy. Sad. Happy. Sad. and thankful all the way around. So thankful that the Lord gave my precious grandpa 85 great years on this earth. So thankful that my grandma is no longer suffering even though we miss her greatly. So thankful that a year ago was a day that changed our lives forever. It is so clear that the Lord's hand has been on us and is involved in every detail. Missing my grandparents more than words can say but how neat that we have our baby boy who looks so much like his big papa and came into existence on his birthday. We have much to celebrate today, as bittersweet as it is.

A little getaway

Vacations aren't as relaxing as they used to be before babies but this one was much needed. We packed the family up and headed out to Palm Desert on Friday morning. My parents had spent the week out there and were leaving Friday so we used the condo for the weekend. I don't know what it is about the desert but there is a special peace that comes over me when I'm there. We enjoyed lunch and drinks by the pool daily and went out for dinner. Can you tell I loved my break away from the kitchen?? She's looking so grown up Little man in his trunks vacation is so exhausting.. we're working on ladylike manners :) My man and his mini A couple of goofs! I swear I see a little bit of curl in that pony Best friends My boys Can't wait to go back in a couple weeks!
I'm laughing as I type this because the blog below is about me being a fatty Mcfat fat and here I am posting a cookie recipe and eating one while I work. Awesome. If you follow me on Instagram then you saw this picture, and let me tell you that they taste WAY better than they look! I was at Trader Joes this morning and came across a bag of rolled oats.  I'm always looking for new breakfast ideas & loved this because they are gluten free, a great source of fiber and sodium free! As I was checking out the gal said, "Ohhh, are you making the cookies?" COOKIES?? I said. She raved about the recipe on the back & you know me & COOKIES!  I drove home and made a batch before I even made lunch.  Shame on that lady for telling me about the recipe. I'm addicted.   Gluten Free Oatmeal Cookie Recipe 1/4 c. butter 1 and 1/4 tsp baking soda 3/4 c. sugar 3 cups of rolled oats 3/4 c. brown sugar 6 oz chocolate ch
