Skincare made easy.

I feel like when it comes to skincare I've tried it all.
From the expensive big name companies to the cheap drug store brands.

Our face is something we wear daily and I try my very best to take care of it.

I am diligent about washing my face morning and night. And while my skin is no where near perfect, it's clean and a constant work in progress.

Here are a few of my favorite brands that I've come to know and love and use daily.

Ps. This is not sponsored. This is my actual routine with items that I found and purchase with my own money.

I've been using acure products for a few months and I'm hooked! They are affordable, clean and have been so great for my skin!

I purchase these products on both Amazon and at Whole Foods. Both typically have coupons. If you download the Whole Foods ap you'll see when they're on sale and sometimes there are coupons on the ap too!

I switch up and use one each day that way I'm exfoliating and getting good cleansing.

Here are the links for Amazon.

As of today, there are coupons to use on all of them at checkout as well! Woowoo! 🙌🏼

I use the make up remover cloths from
Trader Joe's along with their tea tree facial pads.

Also, did you know that tea tree oil applied directly to the skin will help reduce red spots and acne?
And frankincense is like the best thing you could ever put on your skin!

One last thing that is new(er) to me..
Obsessed with this activated charcoal bar made from the sweetest goat farm here in Tennessee!!! If you're not following The Little Seed Farm on Instagram yet you need to!
Also, you can buy most of their products at Kroger if you live in middle tennessee!

That's it! Nothing fancy or overpriced.
Just products I love and wanted to share with y'all!

Homemade Pop Tarts

To be honest, I’m not a fan of the boxed pop tarts but homemade ones make me weak in the knees. Our local coffee shops here in Tennessee sell them and they’re my guilty pleasure.  I decided to take a quiet Tuesday morning and make some with my sweet boy.
Here’s what I did..
HOMEMADE POP TARTSYIELD:9 servings PREP:1 hour COOK:25 minutes TOTAL:1 hour 25 minutes These are simple and SO delicious! The best iced coffee, ever.

When Chris and I went to Mexico this past winter we quickly become addicted to their  blended espressos. I found myself craving them when we got home so I played around with a couple of instant espressos and ended up making the best iced coffee, ever.

What you’ll need.  Medaglia D’oro instant espresso Water IceCoffee creamer of your choiceHeavy cream + caramel Trust me on the instant espresso. I tried them all. This is the best. I get it at Kroger. I’ve also heard Walmart carries it as well as trusty amazon.
Step one.  Get your ingredients out.

I fill my glass up halfway with water and pour a capful of instant espresso in.

Mix it real good.

Time to cool it down.

Now comes the sweet part.

This next step is money.  Lordy.

If you’re feeling really naughty you can add caramel sauce.  Do it.

If you’ve been wanting the recipe for the BEST homemade caramel ever then you’re in luck.  This is the recipe from my mother in law.  It is life changing.

Family Room DIY makeover

Remember that one time my husband bought a tv wall mount and then I decided we needed a new tv stand? And then it made me realize our dark furniture would look way better if I lightened it up? And then it was time to get rid of the old dark throw pillows and dark rug? And then all of a sudden that fireplace looked so out of place. So we gutted it. All because we put the tv on the wall!
Here’s a little walk down our DIY family room makeover.
Before

I started with this old corner cabinet that i got for free years ago and painted chocolate brown.  I dusted her off and went to town with chalk paint.

Then I got rid of the old dark rug and started changing out our throw pillows.

Then it was onto the fireplace.  Before

Chris took out part of the wood floor to extend the floor of the tiny fireplace.
We also cleaned out the fireplace and sprayed it with cream paint that can withstand 1,200 degree temperatures.  And then we sucked out the old volcano rock and put in this fire glass from amazon.
